Croatia beat Belarus with result 1 - 0

Croatia - Belarus

Croatian national team has played another very difficult match in the qualifying for 2010 World Cup, and after lion’s fight at Maksimir (Zagreb) stadium they beat Belarus with result 1-0.

While the guests arrived without their best player Hleb and Kutuzov, they showed that Belarus is very serious opponent. In the first ten minutes they have created two very dangerous situations, and their rapid ball transition caused the opponents fear.

Goal for Croatia has scored Ivan Rakitic, he shoot from 25 meters, the ball was bounced of defender Verhovcov, and finnaly stopped in the net.

Although both teams try to score, the second half passed without goals. However, the ball had entered in the goal of both teams, but referee overturned these goals because of offside.

Ten minutes before the end, the very strict referee ruled out Vedran Corluka, who also will not be able to perform at Wembley, but Croatia finished match with positive result.

Best player of this match definitely was Croatian goalkeeper, Vedran Runje, who saved Croatia with 3 brilliant defenses.

This was very difficult match for Croatia, but most important - result is good.
