Michael Ballack will mis FIFA World Cup

Chelsea midfielder and captain of the German national team Michael Ballack will miss the World Cup in South Africa.

Injury of his right ankle in the first half of the FA Cup final match against Portsmouth (Chelsea win 1-0) turned out to be so serious that the German media made the confirmation that Ballack will miss FIFA World Cup.

The official website of German football federation confirmed:

"Team captain Michael Ballack will miss World Cup. Ballack will be able to start to train in about 8 weeks."

The first match on the 2010 World Cup German team will play at 13th of June against Australia.
