Gareth Barry maybe will miss World Cup because of injury

Manchester City midfielder and England national team player, the 29-year-old Gareth Barry, maybe will miss a World Cup 2010 in South Africa due to ankle injury.
He is injured in the match against Tottenham on Wednesday, and will be absent from the pitch between three and four weeks.
"Gareth is a fantastic guy and a fantastic player. I hope he will play at the World Cup, but Fabio Capello and the medical team must decide about this. I still do not know exactly how his injury is serious, but I guess he will pause around four weeks. He deserves to play at the World Cup and I hope it will succeed", said Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini.
Capello will name his extended list of candidates for FIFA World Cup until 11st of May, and his definitive list of the 23 players must be defined by 1st of June
Barry will now definitely miss the preparatory matches which England will play with Mexico (May 24) and Japan (May 30).
England at the World Cup plays in group C, and the first match is against the USA on 12nd of June.
