Lippi: Nesta will not play at World Cup in South Africa

Coach of the Italian national team Marcello Lippi, said the experienced 33-year-old Milan defender Alessandro Nesta will not be on his list for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, despite media speculation.

Nesta's great games for Milan this season were re-activated a question about his return to national tema, the last time Nesta played for national team on World Cup 2006. However, Lippi has rejected this option after he talked with Nesta.

"He told me, I believe, his final decision, that he is not coming back in the team. I'm sorry because his return maybe could cause a positive shock, but I respect his decision", said Lippi, who then commented on Amauri, Brazilian striker of Juventus, who on Wednesday to get an Italian passport, and Mario Balotelli, the actual attacker of Inter and the Italian U21 player.

"Amauri? We will see in the next few days and then I will give final answer. Balotelli, I hope he will continue with good games for the U21 team. The Inter work well on his development and he will be useful for the team in the future."
