Ronaldo: I will retire next year

Brazilian Ronaldo

Ronaldo, who still hopes to play in the FIFA 2010 announced the end of his football career for the 2011.

Brazilian Ronaldo was best player in the world three times, won the Golden Ball and numerous other trophies with the team and clubs.

"I've decided these are my last two seasons. I will do my best, I hope to have fun, and win some trophies", said 33-year-old Brazilian, who extended a contract with Corinthians.

Ronaldo said he will remain working for the Corinthians after retirement. Corinthians is the second most popular club in Brazil, after Flamengo.

Ronlado, despite the retirement decision and two World Cup titles (1994 in the U.S. and 2002 in South Korea and Japan), wants to play at 2010 World Cup.

"I still have chance to play in South Africa, but not in my Brazil in 2014. It is clear that time passes", said Ronaldo, who with 15 goals is top scorer in the World Cup history.
