Ashley Cole performance at World Cup 2010 is questionable

Left side Chelsea player, 29-year-old Ashley Cole has suffered a left ankle injury in the match of 26th round of English Premiership, which Chelsea lost from Everton with 2-1 result.

This practically means that Cole will miss the rest of the season, because the last Premiership match is scheduled for 9th of May and his performance at the World Cup in South Africa which starts 11th June is also questionable.

29-year-old defender has so far collected 77 appearances for the English national team and he is first choice of Fabio Capello on the left side. However, given that his performance at the World Cup 2010 is not secure, Capello said he had already started to look for players who could replace Cole at World Cup in case he would not be able play.
