U.S. sports TV network ESPN has announced it will launch 3D channel in June, and the first sport event to be transmitted in 3D technique is the first match of FIFA World Cup 2010, that one between South Africa and Mexico.

ESPN announced that they will transmit 25 World Cup matches in 3D. In the first year of 3D TV channel, ESPN networks will transmit 85 games, and besides football matches from World Cup 2010, on the program will be the NBA league, college basketball and American football.

However, to watch sport events in 3D, sports enthusiasts will have to buy new TVs that have the option for 3D program, and special glasses.
