Spain vs. Argentina friendly

Two teams who already has qualified for the World Cup (Argentina and Spain), will play friendly and so start preparing for 2010 World Cup.

Argentine national team coach Diego Maradona has published a list of players for a friendly against Spain, which will be played on 14th November in Madrid on Vicente Calderon stadium.

For this friendly Maradona has invited only players from European clubs. For the first time on its list is Inter Milan midfielder Esteban Cambiasso, who has played 45 matches for Argentina in his career, but he didn’t play since Maradona become Argentine coach.

The last time Cambiasso has played for Argentina a year ago in the World Cup qualifiers match against Chile, result was 1-0 for Chile. Then Alfio Basile was head coach, and after this defeat he resigned, which was later opened the door to Maradona and he become Argentine head coach.

The only debutant on the list for Spain is Cristian Ansaldo from the Russian club Rubin Kazan, who will be a solution for the left side. At this position in the last qualifying match for the World Cup, the victory against Uruguay in Montevideo 1-0, played Gabriel Heinze, but Maradona wants to use him as a central defender.

Defenders: Fabricio Coloccini (Newcastle United), Gabriel Heinze (Marseille), Martin Demichelis (Bayern Munich), Nicolas Pareja (Espanyol), Cristian Ansaldo (Rubin Kazan)

Midfielders: Javier Mascherano (Liverpool), Esteban Cambiasso (Inter Milan), Fernando Gago (Real Madrid), Maximiliano Rodriguez (Atletico Madrid), Jonas Gutierrez (Newcastle United), Pablo Aimar (Benfica), Angel Di Maria (Benfica)

Forwards: Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Sergio Agüero (Atletico Madrid), Carlos Tevez (Manchester City), Gonzalo Higuain (Real Madrid), Ezequiel Lavezzi (Napoli)
