With this victory U.S. held the top in the group, while Honduras has fallen to the fourth place, one that leads to additional qualifications with the fifth team from South American qualifying.

First three places lead automatically to the World Cup 2010, and to ensure third place in the last, 10th round of CONCACAF qualifying, Honduras must win the away game against Salvador, and hope that Costa Rica will not defeat USA in last match.

Mexico has won El Salvador with 4-1 result. Unlike a hard first half, with only one goal - Marvin Gonzalez own-goal, in the second half there were four goals. Scorers for the Mexicans were Cuauhtemoc Blanco, Francisco Palencia and Carlos Vela, as the only goal for El Salvador scored Julio Martinez from a free kick.
